daft question what is the recommended firmware to use the best with your software ?
i have the mks sbase v1.3 atm tried smoothieware but kept getting disconnection issues so i put marlin on but have not used it yet
Try grbl-lpc or Cluster Mode Smoothieware (although I have heard MKS and smoothieware aren’t good bedfellows).
If you mostly cut, rather than engrave photos, anything will work.
Disconnections aren’t the result of firmware type, but of hardware - controller, cables, config.
Ok after installing marlin then reading up was recommended it’s not the best firmware for a laser so I installed grbl LPC and low and behold all the same hardware no more freezing and prints are actually finishing
