Recommendations for a "split studio set up"

Morning all, and thanks for taking a little time to read this question and maybe, help me come up with a solution on this.

My wife and I just moved into our new house, at our old place we had a garage that could fit three 3d printers, a Monport Reno 65w Pro CO2, and a Monport 30W MOPA Fiber Laser, and had some left over room for a small workstation. Now, however… we have a nice 15’ by 25’ room that I’m using for all my creativity projects and side hustle. Normally I’m a work from home IT professional so things got a little more cramped from our earlier place.

Long story short, since there is no garage in the new place so this room will have to do, so I have room for all the machinery, but not the workstation.

The 3d printers I can work with via WiFi so those aren’t a problem. The laser engravers however, I can run a powered long run USB cable to the gaming computer and can connect and run from the other room (the home office).

Is there any technology or ideas that you guys have that may work for maybe a wireless solution to run Lightburn on while in “The Lab” (as my wife calls the room with all the machinery in it) so if need to recenter something or make some adjustments in Lightburn, I can do there instead of walking 30 feet in order to make adjustments or stop the job.

The fiber laser is more of the consideration on this vice the Reno, since it has a TopWisdom controller on it…

Any ideas? Recommendations?

First of all, using the lasers while not being close to them IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. Everyone will tell you that it’s extremely dangerous (not calling it stupid). I can tell you from my own experience that the fire is faster than you noticing it and changing rooms.

Best solution: place one of the printers outside and use that space for the workstation. Or, as most people do, just place a laptop in the laser room, design in the other room, transfer the file to the control laptop and then control the laser from there.

Of course, you can either use USB-over-LAN adapters, RaspberryPis as remote senders, serial-to-bluetooth chips, remote desktops etc. I tested most of those things and all of them work ok. But I’d never use them because the connection might drop too fast. I have a small laptop in my lab that I sit close to when the lasers are running.
