I’m setting up a new 100W MOPA Fiber laser using a 70mm lens with an ezcad2 controller. I’m on the latest Lightburn. I’m having a problem where sometimes the corners of a rectangle don’t appear. This only seems to happen when the corners are near the edge of the work area. See photo
When I searched for information on this topic all the advice seemed to be for gantry systems.
How large is that rectangle? That looks like you’re past the edge of the usable field and it’s going out of focus. (and I mean the real rectangle, measured, not how big you made it in LightBurn)
Those metal cards are 85mm on the long side, so a 70mm rectangle would leave 15mm of blank space, total. It looks like you’ve exceeded that.
Wow, you’re right, it’s about 76mm. Silly to have assumed the output would be scaled correctly. I take it I need to adjust the galvo scale in machine settings.
Yup.
Galvos have no idea what their actual output size is, and there’s quite a bit of variance, so, yes, you’ll need to calibrate.
