Release Date For MillMage - part 2

Thank you for expressing interest in joining the MillMage Beta team. At this time, we are looking for advanced users, we will be opening up for additional levels of experience as we move forward.

The best approach is to email to our support@lightburnsoftware.com, include MillMage Beta in the title and include a bit about your experience level to assist us in selection. Please include the following,

  • Your level of CNC experience (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • CNC machines you own (Make/Model)
  • Your current software packages

Access to our beta groups is not guaranteed. We will review these submissions and reach back if you have been selected. And again, Thank You for your willingness to contribute.

I know you guys probably get tons of people asking to join the beta, so I thought I’d try my luck, too. Sent you a message, fingers crossed

Some time ago I responded to the call for interested beta testers, stating my years of experience with CNC routers using both Mach3 and UCCNC.

Heard nothing more and thought no more about it.
Then on the 7th of this month I received an invitation to join the beta team.
So I responded straight away with the requested wording in my email.

Despite several emails sent, I have received no further instructions re this process.
So I am wondering if there has been a change of mind or some other reason for the lack of response.

I have refreshed the forum page a number of times and no new category.

Lucky, I received no email LOL I was hoping to do some beta testing. I want to see how it compares to aspire as I do 3d relief portraits in wood.

I think Lightburn said asking was not a guarantee you would get approved. If they have enough testers with the same experience you have, I doubt they need more.

As I stated in the above post, Lightburn did send me via email an official invitation to join the beta team to which I responded.

This being one line quoted from that invitation email,

“Hello Greg, you have been selected for MillMage Beta access! Congratulations on being one of the first to beta test.”

My post was regarding having received no further instructions.

I’m taking a look at this now.

edit: fixed now

There, problem solved!

Be prepared for a surprise. Beta 11 is the most recent, I think.

It currently has no facility for engraving relief portraits, so there will be no comparison possible.

Ok, i wasn’t sure but for simple 2.5d routing it will be nice to use

2.5D and a Dremel tool can make it look 3D.

i prefer the let it run and drink untill it looks 3d method. I find scotch old enough to buy itself a drink to be best for this effect LOL

Hi Colin, same here. Received an email with invitation to which I responded that I agree to the T&C but no further instructions regarding the access.

Can I join please ? I run a hpc1200 and a opus Olympus big boi

Those are the machines you have, but they tell me nothing about your experience level.

I’d like to reiterate Rick’s post above - this is a place to discuss MillMage, not a place to apply for beta access.

Please do not DM forum staff to request access. Use the email above.

Might October be the month for a public release, that I can purchase it and be overjoyed, like a toddler with his greatest toy of the decade?

Sorry, but unlikely. We’re going as fast as we can, I promise.

Many thanks for your latest update. MillMage is going to be my solution for producing engraved text on my own vacuum-tube music gear. I cannot begin to imagine the process of managing all the different engineering aspects of MillMage, and then end up producing a super-cool software, that even a old man like me can learn to use and appreciate. Meanwhile, I’ll go back to my music studio and tweak the bias and equalization on my 24-track machine, then the intonation on my guitars.

This picture shows the engraving done with my home-made router, via my son using Fusion360 to post-process my drawings, creating the G-code files for the DUET3D, 6XD controller.

Are you making this stuff to sell (sorry, not to me)? I am an electronics guy and it looks very professional. Good work.
