Resize an object yet maintain one aspect

Is there a way in LightBurn to resize an object yet maintain one aspect? For instance say I have a 50mm circle with a 5mm wide slot That goes from the outside of the circle to the center and I want to resize the circle to 150mm but I want the slot to stay at 5mm wide.

You could use “resize slots” depending on the geometry of the part.

You could also resize the circle and simply leave the slot alone, also depending on your file type.

Can you attach the file to your reply so we can see what you are doing?

I must be doing something wrong. I followed the tutorial but when I open the slot resize and type in the exact width nothing turns colors, the entire shape looks like I hit node edit and when I hit apply nothing happens. The size stays the same and all I see are all the nodes

It shows how I want to do it.

Thank you! That is exactly what I did but when I open the slot resize window my image fills with nodes and does not change colors like yours does.

The resize function recognizes your shape that you want to change, not as a slot. It needs to be cleaned of nodes and radii. Send the file and I’ll look at it.

Your problem is that you are using a traced, very irregular shape with many nodes and not straight lines, which is necessary to be recognized as a slot.
I have inserted a regular square where your slot should be, deleted the old one and connected the new one to the rest of the shape, then I can determine the dimensions of the slot with the resize function.

Thank you for all your help! I will remember this for future projects.

Your file was probably scanned or traced from somewhere. I would say that’s why you have so many nodes. As @bernd.dk mentioned, slots needs to be free from nodes. By other words, it only works with 90º corners.

Thank you. I appreciate your help
