Resume job using "Start here"

Can’t seem to get this feature working. Using version 17.08 on a macbook pro, 60w JPT. The job stopped about 3/4 the way through. Using the preview pane I go to the point where the job stopped the hit the “Start here” button but nothing happens. Close the preview pane and hit start but the job starts again from the beginning. Wondering what I’m doing wrong.

I suspect that the job is not completely transferred to your laser, i.e. the part that is not being processed is missing.
Sometimes this is due to a lack of memory in the laser controller, other times it is due to communication problems.
It is also a bit unclear how you try to continue a stopped job. Have you determined from where the program should resume the job?

If your having issues here’s a procedure i have used. This may help. Download and change the extension on the file below from .txt to .docx. Its a word document

When the job stopped It showed in the laser pane that it was still running but the laser was not firing so I stopped that and opened the preview pane and positioned the preview where the job had stopped then hit the Start here button but nothing happened. I tried that a few times but couldn’t get it to start from that position using the Start here button. I did get it to work once on a previous & different job using an earlier version of LB but I don’t recall if I did anything different that time. Not sure If I’m missing some setting or method to get it to work.

Thanks for that. It’s a method I’ve successfully used a number of times. This particular job is small & simple and I just can’t understand why I can’t get that “Start here” button to resume work as I expect it to do.

Should I try your file here on my computer? You can either send it directly here or as a PM if you want.

Thanks for the offer. I get get the job done but still don’t know why that “Start here” function didn’t work.

Using preview…

I haven’t really tested it, but I can hear the galvos working when I click on it.

What I found was clicking and briefly holding on the Start here button then releasing resulted in another drop down menu appear where clicking the start option there made the laser start again where desired.

Thanks – I’ll have to try that and see the results.
