Rotary Axis for Vevor 60W C02 suggestions

Hi All,

I’m having trouble finding a rotary axis for our machine. It came with a 4 pin round plug for a rotary attachment and a switch to swap the axis’s over, but upon discussing it with Vevor they say they can not supply one. Probably didn’t expect anything more than that, but had to ask them I suppose.
So that brings me here, I can probably change the plug to suit anything easily enough, as I realise most common stepper motors will be 4/5pin flat plugs. With a bit of trial and error a couple of times I’m sure I’d get the pairing. What is everyones suggestions when it comes to rotary axis’s? is there a preferred make/model/style by most. I’m in Australia so any australian supplier links would be greatly appreciated. Main uses will be stainless bottles, tumblers etc

This is what’s in mine… in fact both rotaries and machines use these aviation connectors.

If you’re going to interchange it with an led laser, you might want to make a pig tail so you don’t damage the original connector.

Usually the motor the windings (or phases) are marked. This is from the one of the motor driver manuals…

You can ohm these out if they are not labeled. If it goes backwards, swap phases. Most of these are two phase, but there are three phase motors.

Not really … you can pick a chuck or wheel rotary. I have a PiBurn that I like a lot, but it’s relatively expensive… I also have a D80 chuck type.

You can’t really engrave on bare stainless steel with this type of laser. I used to do mugs and things with my co2, before I got the fiber.

I use LBT100 or something similar to spray the object and lase the material to the object. There are other products that are similar, such as CerMark.

This is LBT100 …

If you have problems or questions… sing out

:smile_cat:

thats definately the connector and I have a bottle of cermark already :), by the stainless bottles etc I was more meaning the powder coated variety. Wasn’t too worried about the plug, I have built my fair share of 3d printers and played with the steppers. I just don’t want to build 1, chasing something as off the shelf as I can in this instance. I like the look of the pi burn one, if only was in Australia :frowning:
