Rotary Malfunction?

I got the infamous code 20. Error:20 Unsupported or invalid g-code command found in block”.

Creality Rotary Pro the chuck style not the roller

I cannot get my rotary to move, spine or engrave. I used it once with the same image ive used before just last week. But now it either doesnt move the y axis when i hit test or turns on and just stays on when i have the rotary enabled and press print.

Does this issue only occur with the rotary or have you also seen this with gantry function?

Can you provide the following:

  1. Full screenshot of LightBurn with your design loaded and ready to burn
  2. Screenshot of Rotary Setup
  3. Go to File->Save gcode and save the gcode for your project using a .txt extension. Then upload here.

gcode.txt (1.5 MB)

I might be slow to respond as im going into surgery tomorrow. Im trying to get everything rolling (no pun intended) for i can get stuff made for a craft event

Yikes. Hope all goes well.

I don’t see anything in the g-code that would be considered invalid. I do notice one potential issue but not one that would cause the issue you’re seeing.

Your device is likely configured for the incorrect device type. You are on GRBL-M3 when you really want to be on GRBL. Push Devices button in Laser window, then click the name of your laser, then Edit. Change to GRBL and complete the rest of the wizard.

Error 20 in most likelihood is going to be in this case a communication issue. You didn’t indicate if the issue was limited to rotary. I would expect a communication issue to hold for rotary and flat work.

Try a different high quality USB cable. Avoid any hubs if possible.

Just rotary for the time being. i have other issues with the platform but i work around them. Creality falcon 2 12 watt. Didnt like the idea of getting another creality after the one that i had for my 3d printer died after 2 weeks but it was a good deal. Now im teetering on regretting getting it. Just gallbladder surgery but surgery is surgery

It might be worth trying to save your file to an SD card and see what that does. The Falcon 2 that I have (22W) is quite finicky with USB. It will also frame in a very weird way with a rotary. So, I press the play button, wait for some movement, then press play again almost immediately. This latter issue is ONLY with SD cards and if you set your origin to something other than the absolute bottom left (which I always do on tumblers).
