I am trying out for the first time my Rotary attachment (RA2) with my XTool D1 Pro. While the rotary spins as it should (along what I assume is the Y Axis) the laser head never moves on the opposite axis (I assume the X axis).
No errors show up in Lightburn but effectively all the rig produces is a single line (since it doesn’t move on the X axis). I have enable rotary set to true so I’m not sure what the issue is.
Any thoughts?
Help us see what you’re seeing. Please post a screenshot of your entire Lightburn screen with the Cuts/Layers Panel and Laser Panel visible. Also post a screenshot of the Settings Window (Gears icon) with the Units and Grids tab visible and post a screenshot of the Device Settings Window (Wrench and Screwdriver icon) and the Rotary dialog.
Here is a link to a pdf that contains all the screenshots requested:

You gave acess to all your files?
I don’t see anything that would cause the problem you’re describing. Does it work properly in XCS?
No. Only public files.
Tim,
Took a few updates to get XCS up to date (haven’t used it in a while) but the behavior is the same. The cup rotates appropriately on the chuck but the laser does not move on the gantry.
If you remove the rotary, does it function properly? Wondering if there is a problem with your x axis.
Tim,
Removed the RA2 and reconnected the Laser in its standard (flat) mode. Everything seemed to work fine except it is now limiting the access travel to 248mm. This is very weird since I printed a dozen items (pre-RA2) that were 305mm square. I tried it in XCS and it cuts the 305mm square just fine.
I am confused…
Make sure you disable the rotary in Lightburn. That is probably why the size is limited.
As far as it working without the rotary connected, I’m not sure. I thought possibly there was a problem with your X axis.
Since it doesn’t work with the rotary in XCS either, I would contact xTool.
Another thought. After disabling the rotary in Lightburn and the size limits being restored. Try starting in XCS and install the rotary and see if it works there. If it still doesn’t work in XCS then contact xTool.
Hi Tim,
I discovered the enable rotary setting just before reading your response and of course you were right on the mark. In flat mode, everything works perfectly.
So, as you sy, it’s time to contact XTool Service
