First off I am new to using a laser but am familiar with cnc, gcode, 3d printing, im somewhat technical lol so I’m not completely dunce but this has me stumped…
I have a laser master 2 20w
Firmware 1.1f
Unsure of controller
Running lightburn on windows 10
I’ve been learning this machine for about 2 weeks now and everything had been running just fine as I learned settings, speeds, fill vs lines etc even burned an image a couple times no issues…
This seems to have started after I learned how to use gimp with the plug in for images and the first one is when I had the first issue… ok sounds like no big deal so I tried again on the plain image not run through gimp and no change still same issue…
So Now the past 4 days I cannot get a job with an image to run for more than a few minutes to about 7 minutes tops and I get different error messages. Plain text or lines, letters, even filling in shapes and text works like a charm. Something though when I try to run an image… I’ve had stream lost come up, is the one thats almost everytime… I’ve had alarm 8, alarm 3, and twice with speed set at 1200 I got the alarm of movement detected job halted.
I’ve been reading anything I could find and I’ve changed the USB cable, power supply, even the control board, everything but the laser itself pretty much. I’ve deleted the prefs folder and verified that the sleep settings on USB are disabled. Updated laser grbl and verified install on lightburn. All to still have the same effect.
Sometimes ill hear the chime in windows of a USB being unplugged and the machine will stop and lightburn won’t automatically reconnect until I power off the laser completely and power on again.
Sometimes it will just stop as if pause were pressed but shows stream lost but connection shows ready and I press stop the fan cuts off and home the laser and can start again.
Its driving me mad honestly lol I can seem to do anything but an image is where I have problems come in at.
Hopefully someone can help me find something I have missed or give me some direction.
If there’s any additional info needed from me please let me know. I hope I’ve described this as best I can and makes sense lol
