Safety Door Lock Setting Not Staying "ON"

The Safety Door Switch setting will not stay “On”. Every time the program/machine is restarted the toggle may or may not be “On” or “Off” looking for a way to have the safety door switch always on to pass safety assessment. Also looking for a way for the operators to not be able to change the setting.

Hi @tucker.tilleraas - When you say the setting will not stay on, do you mean that the setting itself is not persistent, or that the switch signal is on/off. If you’re having signal issues, most often that’s related to an incorrectly set port or High/Low setting. Could you provide us with a screenshot of the port settings you have, and the make and model of laser you’re working with?

LightBurn does not have any sort of lock out feature for settings - if your operators are bypassing and changing settings, that’s an operator issue. I’d recommend saving a bundle of your machine settings just so you know that you’re working from what you intended User Bundles - LightBurn Documentation

This sounds like the operators are trying to defeat the door safety switch. Did I get it right?

They arent trying to defeat the door switch but currently they are able too if they choose to turn off the door lock setting.

Colin, What I mean that sometimes is that sometimes when the program is booted up, the “door protect” setting will be at the 15ms that it was left at from the previous boot up, and then sometimes when the program is booted up the door protect setting will be at “none”. So its not booting up consistently with the same settings as previous. I understand that the operator should not be changing the setting to “none” but they should not be given the ability too is what our safety department says.

We have a Haas HL 50E.
