Saved positions on the goto tab

was wondering why we have a enable z axis on the managed “saved positions” screen but on the goto screen only a “goto xy” button. seems a goto “zxy” would be more the case when the z axis is enabled, or “goto saved position” zxy

Can you post a screenshot of what you’re referring to? When I select the saved position, the value populates and I can click the Go to Z button… Move Window - MillMage Documentation

Like “Goto Z, then Goto XY” in one button?

that is how it was originally in an early RC all in one button , it got changed because some machines move XY 1st and Z last, there were comments about this being an issue as tools were hitting work pieces so the buttons were split , it was odd to start with, but im used to it now.

maybe goto Z could be moved below the go to XY instead of at the bottom , may make it easier for some

Not sure that would make a difference, at least with me.

The problem is that we can’t reliably decide which axis to move first. if you’re stored coordinate is at the bottom of a bowl, we would want to move the Z last. If you’re stored coordinate is to move out out of the bottom of that bowl and back to some convenient workplace location we would need to move the Z first to clear the sides.

yes exactly, or a “goto saved position” button zxy, i save my manual tool change position in the saved position and if i want to use the option, i have to open the window, select the saved position, then select the goto z position, “pause” then select the goto xy position, so i dont even use the saved position option, i just use a saved macro i created and 2 clicks done. thanks and sorry for the confusion

No apology needed!!!

My tool change position is in the Custom GCode Tool Change section. No macro needed. My only Macro, “Retract”, is to retract Z and move the table forward for unloading parts.

ya i was not saying sorry to your comment, your comment did not answer my question
