Hi, I hope you can help me. Do you know if there is a way to make the Scissors tool separate the nodes instead of just cutting the selected path?
I find it a very useful tool because it makes selecting divided sections really easy, but unfortunately, it only cuts them without separating them. Do you know if there is another way to do this?
While in the Node Edit mode, hover over the node you want to break and hit “B”. The Scissors Tool is not a node editing tool, it is a line segment removing tool. Sorry!
Thanks! That’s right—I see it’s only for cutting. However, a deselection function—even one not tied to the Scissors tool—would be really useful; it would save us a lot of time compared to selecting nodes one by one, since the Scissors tool perfectly selects the split sections.
I see 2 clicks to remove those arc segments with the Scissors Tool.
If you delete the intersection (there might not be any node pairs, or even any nodes, exactly at those intersections), which direction is the removal supposed to go?
The perfect example is to try to node edit on 2 overlapping ellipses made with Lightburn.
Number 1 is the original design, and number 2 is the final result I want (black line for cutting, blue line for marking). With number 3, node editing isn’t very straightforward—you have to add nodes and then deselect them. However, in the unnumbered image, using the scissors tool would reduce the process to just two steps: one to delete and another to separate. This option would be helpful for many designs because it would minimize the need for node editing. I hope I’ve made myself clear, and thanks for the help.
#2 says what you are trying to get. It appears you have a black cut layer and a blue etch layer. That is pretty much how it has to be done in Lightburn. Getting there is pretty quick, but I can see it as a problem if you have 100’s of them to do.
