Sculpfun s9 issue in lightburn

I have a sculpfun s9 i recently had to replace the wiring harness due to breaking one of the y axis wires i got the new harness got it installed worked with sculpfun and got as far as getting it to work with laser grbl but it would not work with lightburn they had me upgrade the motherboard and i got that hooked up and installed and i am having the same issue it recognizes the laser but when i go to move it it does not move and the status bar under the laser tab is shows like there is a job in progress until i click stop while it shows that the laser does not move freely and i can feel the stepper motor vibrating as if it is trying to move but cannot. i was thinking possibly the stepper motor but everything works fine in laser grbl so i dont think it is the laser at this point or if it is it has to do with the connection in lightburn this has only started since i replaced the wiring harness

Did you make sure to use the correct COM port? I guess so

The first thing is to try to toggle the “enable DTR signal” switch in device settings. Does this help?

I don’t know what that does but it did not work it is still doing the same thing thanks for the reply though

Just a guess but if the stepper is vibrating and resistant to moving sounds like a crossed wire between stepper motor and stepper driver.

So that would be in the wiring harness then?

It’s one possibility.
Is there anyway the wires to the stepper could have been switched?

I understand that it’s working fine in LaserGRBL. So it’s not the hardware or any driver related thing. It’s a LB issue then. Did you add the laser as type grbl?

Yeah it is added as grbl that’s what I’m leaning towards is a lightburn issue

Not unless they are not wired correctly within the harness the plugs to each stepper are specific to the motor and also it jogs perfectly fine in laser grbl but i have the paid lightburn and i have not the slightest clue on how to work laser grbl so that is not an option if i could convert my lightburn files towork in grbl icould but not sure if that is possible

Thats more or less possible, you can export projects as SVG and import them to LaserGRBL. But you loose layers etc. Not a very feasible solution.

First thing: re-install LightBurn, then show screenshots of LB settings, device settings and the LightBurn window showing console as well as laser window.

How do i completely unmistakable everything for lightburn when i was working with sculpfun we installed it but it doesn’t remove everything because all my settings and everything remain the same i am guessing that i need to delete something else in order to start from scratch as in enter my key and everything but i can’t get it to do that i tried Uninstalling restarting then reinstalling and it still remembered everything from before

Update: i have narrowed it down to the software i have a second computer that i put lightburn on and i activated my license on there and it is working great i still want to find what is different on my new computer (the one not working) is there a support email or anything that i can get tech support?

So i got it working i ended up testing my whole computer i didn’t want to but found another thread that had the exact same issue from March 23 and that is what they ended up doing so i guess at this point that is the solution for this issue luckily i didn’t have a whole lot of added things on my computer as i only had it for a couple months but issue is resolved
Thank you for the help
