Actually when you’ve made a right click on a layer, all the shapes are flashing.
It could be useful when right click on the layer, to select all the shapes, OR, to have a context menu to select all the shapes. The command exists in the Edit Menu
Shift-click instead of right-click.
It is slightly more difficult to do because it can change your file. If you have three objects on different layers in a group, and you select the contents of one layer, I have to remove it from the group to do this.
