Sending data to laser fails

Last week I downloaded the trial version of Lightburn to try it before I buy it. I installed it and it worked fine. Now, a week later, I get the following message when trying to frame and fire the laser: “There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused.”
I tried to plug the USB cable of the laser in and out again, restart my computer (working on a Mac) and Lightburn, but non of this works. Does anyone have a solution to this?

This is pretty much saying I’m not connected to the controller of I’ve lost the connection with the controller …

You need to ensure you’ve selected the proper port in Lightburn … in the Laser window…

Above the laser window, on the left, it needs to say “Ready” …

Do you know how to find usb connections with ‘lsusb’ or something similar?

I use Linux, but a Mac is a relative…

:smile_cat:

I find if I have the Mac running before I turn the laser on I get this message. I simply close LightBurn and restart it. Always connects for me.
