I’m new to this and am trying to do some yetis for friends. I have my RA2 set up in the center of my D1. Is there a way to set a home position to center the laser starting point as a change out cups so I don’t have to manually try and align and center it every time?
I found it easiest to set the “Start From” option to “Current Position” and then the Job Origin to whatever point you like. I do the middle, right most often. My chuck is to the right when I’m facing the machine and I usually put it inside the mouth of the cup. All these settings are in the Laser window.
I move my laser by hand but you could also jog it around with the software or the buttons on the front.
It took me a while to figure out how to set it correctly because my laser doesn’t turn on when I’m using SD or USB. I created a bunch of pencil marks on a piece of cardboard and tried to laser an x through them. After a few shots I put some reference marks on my laser head and I can get within about 1mm now. I might add a cheap laser pointer and 3D print a mount for it but I’m not sure I want to give up the ~50mm offset that would require.
