Setting for the Initial speed of framing on a rotary

I know you can adjust the framing speed, but there is this quick jerk at the beginning and end during rotary framing that I want to slow down.

I have a separate configuration files for my rotary…

I have slowed down the ‘start speed’ which is the speed it ‘takes off’ or start from and the acceleration values in the Y axes.

I think all of mine are in the single digits. It’s attached to the Y axis on mine.

Framing from the console is set with max speed, it could also be applied to the layer when you run…

Good luck.

If this is on your OMtech 60W I believe that the maximum speed settings are in the controller and that the controller would default to the maximum speeds when starting and stopping a job.

Does your OMtech 60W have a Ruida Controller?

You may want to adjust speed, acceleration mm/(second squared) and jerk mm/(second cubed) settings for your rotary axis.

I’ve seen ‘jump-off’ discussed in other threads. Is that the ‘start-from’ you mention here?

Sorry it’s actually ‘start speed’ within the Ruida… My bad… :frowning:

Changed the original entry to reflect ‘start speed’…

Where is this setting?

I might be confused. I found it in a Ruida (fiber laser) controller manual (and a few other places) - it could be unique to those so it may not apply here.

@DASFREAK - do you happen to know the controller model number. I’m probably in error about Jerk settings for your controller.

Don’t let it bother you, I think I spend most of my time confused…
