If there was a tab for segment length, it would be so helpful. Right now it only has tabs for overall height and width. Let’s say I want a pentagram with 3: sides, I would only have to change the 6 to a five and select the side length. Now I have to redo trig class and figure the height and hope I get it correct.
You can get one by cheating:
- Draw a pentagon of any size
- Use the
Measuretool to find the actual side length - Use the
Numeric Editstoolbar to scale the pentagon by 100 times the ratio of “what you want” to “what it is” - Profit!
For example, if the pentagon has sides of 47.61 mm and you really want 50 mm sides, the scale factor is:
100*50/47.61
Because the Numeric Edits scale always starts with 100.000 (because the shape is always 100% of the size it is), you can tack the asterisk for multiplication and the ratio onto the end of it with a deft mouse click and a few characters of typing.
