Hi and thanks for everything everyone has taught me from reading this Forum over the past few months, I have an Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 and thought it was all working perfectly but recently have realised that small circles display the issue below, I have spent the day checking all the belts etc, the only thing I have read that I cant really make sense of is that it seems that the x axis should move freely if I tilt the machine, it doesn’t do this, the whole x movement is really quite stiff, the belt tension doesn’t appear to affect this, i have tried adjusting the bolts through the wheels but this doesn’t make any difference, I can’t understand how i can loosen up this x movement, do i need to adjust the one nut at the underside ?
I made some progress and thought i’d share in case anyone else has similar issues
Firstly I tried burning slower, strangely I found this made the errors smaller, I can see a noticeable jump happening at the start of each circle when it is in progress,
I also tried moving the used area so that it was using a different portion of the belts etc, this made no difference at all,
On playing with the optimisation settings, i at least managed to get a reasonably error free output by disabling reduce direction changes,
I would still like to understand what is happening at the start of each of these circles and if there is another way to avoid it , thanks for your help
Are you referring to the eccentric nuts that change the wheel height? If so, even if it doesn’t improve the situation you should for sure be affecting something. Either the wheels should be getting tighter against the rail or should be getting looser. It should not be “any difference”.
Adjust all of them so that the gap between the wheels and the rail is minimized and with little play, but not so tight that the wheels are deformed for that it causes binding. They should roll smoothly and easily.
Is this where you are looking?
Higher speeds and acceleration will exaggerate any mechanical issues. What is the starting point of each circle… and what direction is the burn occurring?
The interesting thing with the last photos is that you can see that the circles are actually oblong at roughly 45 degrees. This indicates that you’re possibly binding.
Can you attach the .lbrn file to take a look at?
