I built a test file for cutting with a number of squares, set to various speeds and powers.
However when I burn it the laser turns completely off for no apparent reason.
It’s still acting like it’s burning but the laser is completely off.
The speed adjust is in the layers, power in the squares themselves, 60% to 100% bottom to top.
I’ve been struggling with air assist for a couple days already and never had this problem.
Hello, I am not an expert far from there, but apparently you burn at 100% power, try with a power of 60 or 80%, it may be that the power supply of the machine does not follow the necessary power, I had this case original power supply (made in China but low end) I bought another power supply
The power settings are in the squares, not in the layers.
The machine will happily run 100%. Up till now I’ve been doing metal engraving, today is my first experiment with cutting.
Redo the tests with 50% of maximum power and see if it stops, if it does it is the power supply, it always works well at the beginning, then one day…like for cars etc, new it works then with time and wear it is not the same.
When I open the power window on the touchscreen, it’s always at 0%.
I can set it to any number I like, close the window, open it again, it’s 0%.
After multiple tries, usually a given power setting will “stick”.
This is the SM350 with it’s custom power supply. I’ve run it on other files just fine at 100%.
The only info I could find for such issues, mentioned updating firmware, check power supply overheat, and the 0% power issue could possibly be a software glitch/ bad Gcode.
If you can run other files ok, then is that file corrupted.
I own a SM Ray 20w & IR1064 but dont know much about code.
