Snapmaker Artisan with Rotary and 40W laser

Will there be any update to Lightburn to add the B axis to the grbl-M3 101 or earlier? I would like to be able to use Lightburn for engraving Tumblers, but without the B axis, my rotary will not work since Snapmaker updated the Firmware and does not use Marlin any longer.

So, I was playing around with with the New version of LightBurn (1.6.00) tonight with my Snapmaker Artisan. I attached my Rotary Modual to see if anything had changed for making my Rotary work and with the Current Profile that is in the WIKI still did not work for me. So I tried all the Profiles I had read about in the Forum and no luck. So I went back into the Rotary Settings and tried the TEST button. I still got nothing. So I went to the Console and Sellected All next to the Command line to see the output when I hit the TEST Button and I was intrigued. Eventhough the only Axis I chose was A (since there is No B Axis to chose) And I got this output:

I looked everything over and I took the following command and changed it:
G1 X20A0S0F1800

I changed to G1 X20B0S0F1800 and my Rotary started to work. I just changed the A to B.

I then did the sam to the following Command:
G1 A360S0F4125.3 to G1 B360S0F4125.3 and the rotary worked.

I then changed this command:
G1 A-360S0F4125.3 to G1 B-360S0F4125.3 and the Rotary worked going back in the reverse direction.

I am convinced that Changing the A axis to B axis will fix most of the issues with the rotary on the Snapmaker Artisan. I am not a programer and just a Newbie to this hobby, but I know enough about IT to see where this issue lies…

I hope this helps!

@ adammhaile

Well, I’m guessing that LightBurn support is not interested in helping fix this issue…sigh
