Snapmaker Ray laser turning off

Hi,
Yesterday when i turned on the machine it started flashing red light and continually beeping. I tried restarting but nothing happened. then i moved the head in the middle and it stopped. After that, the laser started to turn of for 2-4 seconds during cutting while the head continued on the cutting path and then turned on again. Also if i run a frame test, and then push the start button the lase will assume that is located at the top left location (home, x0, y0)and it tries to goes the design and off course it runs to the lasers boundaries.

what could it be? motherboard?

Hi Andreas
Did you fix the problem, can you say what caused it.

Well… I haven’t fix it to be honest I just found a way to work around it! The flame detector started to be very sensitive out of the sudden and I could fix it so I turned down the sensitivity. About the boundary test and the assumption that the laser has returned to the home position instead of been at the object 's boundary test location, I am forced to push the home button every time I move the laser in order to reuse it. I do not know how to fix that and it’s very annoying. Everything started when I updated the firmware of the laser.

Hi Andreas

I received my ray a few weeks ago but have not switched it on yet. I am building an enclosure for it and also a laptop I wanted to use apparently developed a hardrive problem so I have to replace that and trying to figure out which L,T to get.

I cannot offer you expert opinion and only have a little knowledge I have read in SM-ray Wiki which is limited to the use with Luban…which I will not be using.

Did you run the machine before updating the firmware, and if so did it run ok at that time.

Are you saying that the laser returns to Home (x.0/y.0) at bottom left corner…And then you have to move it by hand to the boundry of the object that you want to test the boundary of.

So I am thinking, The laser is at the Home position (bottom left) then it should move to the object/work boundry position directed by lightburn…and then Run the boundary, and then Stop and wait for the Work command or return to Home position and wait for Work command.

Just to check! Could there be a mixup in lightburn settings, concerning Home/Origin/Current position.

Ps, I have heard of old data possibly getting in the way of new data updates. Did you clear old data from memory card before downloading/instaling the new update version.

If you´re using Current Position try right-click devices button to reset connection.

I tried all that and nothing changes… There is the newest update of Lightburn and since everything started once I updated the firmware of my laser I thought maybe it can fix my issues. I just finished a big project that I was working on so now I will give it a shot and will let you know the outcome!

Hi Andreas
Last night I was reading a conversation about recent firmware updates (Ceck in the Software category of the forum).
People were having issues and some were solved by clearing all old files from control board and Reloading new version 1.7 etc. Other people went back to 1.6… version until they figure it out.

Have a look for that conversation and see if it relates to your machines issue. Sorry I cant remember exactly which conversation or details…I’m busy right now but will help later if you cant find it.
