I’ve got 2 lasers, one CO2 with a Ruida controller, and one Laser Master 3 diode (GRBL). I have both devices setup in LightBurn and toggle between them depending on which laser I’m working with.
My default device was the Ruida, that uses mm/sec for speed calculations.
When I launch lightburn and switch from the default Ruida to the other GRBL device in the control panel, the UI updates from mm/sec to mm/min, but I think something is happening internally within LightBurn that’s not actually switching the speed calculation from mm/sec to mm/min. The speed of the laser is way too high after I switch devices and try running an image burn. I’ve been trying to track down why my results in LightBurn were so poor and deleting the Ruida from my devices seemed to solve all my woes.
I also noticed that if I save a file with the GRBL device selected, close and relaunch LightBurn, open the same file with the default Ruida selected, and then switch the device over to the GRBL device, the image flips upside down (different home orientations between the two). If I launch LightBurn, switch the device to the GRBL, and then open the file…the image is oriented correctly as I saved it.
Happy to provide videos or debug logs if needed. I’m able to reproduce this behavior consistently, fairly certain there’s some kind of bug here.
Edit: Running the latest version of LightBurn on a fully updated Win10 machine.
