Software doesn't know where home is

Hello I have been using this laser without issue on Lightburn for a while. I moved to a new location, and now it seems to have forgotten where home is. When I hit home, it goes towards the bottom left corner, then it sounds like iit’s grinding gears trying to get home still when there is nowhere left to go. I recently bought a second machine, a different brand different size, and it’s doing the same thing.

The first machine is the Omtech B10 and the 2nd is the Sclupfun s70max

If it tries to go beyond the limit switches, the switches are either broken / not connected or misconfigured. Show your configuration and the output of the ? command in the console.

I agree with Melvin. The “grinding gears” part sounds like the limit switches don’t trigger.
Ensure that nothing blocks them physically and check if all connectors are seated properly.

Both these lasers can theoretically be connected to the same Device in LightBurn.
Did you set up a new device for the Sculpfun s70 max?

I expect the S70 to be the same as my SF-A9. It should Home front left and there are limit switches on both ends of X and Y. Unless somebody messed with the parameters, it should Home just fine. If you had to do some assembly, make sure the X and Y cables are not crossed at the controller.

Click the Wrench and Screwdriver icon and make sure your Origin is set to the correct position and the Working Size is correct in the Device Settings.

Is this a physical switch you are talking about?

I did that still having the same problem

Did you move the machine? It sounds like your gantry is not square to the frame so the module can’t fully activate the switch.

First, measure from corner to opposite corner and check the square of the frame.
If the machine is perfectly, square, with the power off, slowly move the gantry to the top of the work area until it hits the hard stop of the frame. Pay close attention and see if both sides hit the hard stop at the exact same time. If not, you have to loosen the timing belt on the side that hats last and push it into the frame so the belts jumps teeth and the gantry is returned to square.

My guess is you moved the machine and the frame is now out of square.

EDIT: I just reread your OP and I see you did move the machine. It’s likely the frame.

Yes, a little hard to spot.

If you have a really high approach speed ($25=?), you might be overshooting the switch. For my 40w laser:
$24=200
$25=3000
