So I have a new Universal Engraver 15000 and while I can burn a design, I’m unable to control speed or laser power through Lightburn. They always stay the same. On my old Ortur I was able to adjust these through Lightburn.
What am I doing wrong?
You’re very probably trying to move the machine too fast.
A couple of opening questions:
- What speeds (and specifically with what units) are you using?
- Is this engraving images, or just anything?
- Have you enabled ‘Laser Mode’ in your machine? (firmware setting, $32=1 in the console)

What I mean is: if I adjust laser strength or speedwithin lightburn it doesn’t effect the laser at all. As in: the speed nor strength never change no matter what setting I use… it’s almost as if the software isn’t communicating those commands to the laser.
