Solid portions of image lasered on bass wood too deep

Hi, very new to this. I’ve got a Snapmaker 2.0 with the 20 watt laser. Trying to figure out, after I edited the jpeg in paint, the solid colored sections engraved way too deep. Original worked well (left side).

Try a different image mode like STUCKI
Enable dot width correction.
Maybe lower your max power.
Decrease DPI.
