On my China Blue, it is inline with the mains power. It shuts power off to the whole machine.
It’s also a contested item. On 220v machine there is 1/2 the required current than that of a 110v machine. The ‘e-switch’ on the 110v machine are about at their current limit. Many have switched it to a ssr, but it requires some power be available to turn on the ss relay.
