Im having issues with my laser not making a true square when cutting or etching. I dont know if this is a new issue or if its always been there. I was making a square template as a plaque alignment tool and thats when i noticed that the image was out of square. Im running a Longer Rays 5 20w. I have the latest version of lightburn and everything seems to be up to par. I’ve checked all the physical aspects of the machine, cleaned, checked belts, cleaned all rollers, checked frame for alignment. I also tried changing the speed with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the lack of information. It would be “C” in the example but not as dramatic. When looking at it , it looks ok but when I used the plaque or even a square its noticeably off. I used a rectangle to get more of an idea how much it was off. I used a 7" x 9" and its about 1/8" off from top to bottom so not as bad as in the example but enough to make alignment a pain
I made them dramatic to make it easier to select an option.
With results like that I would first check to be sure your machine’s frame is square. It could be a stepper motor losing steps, but I think frame issues are more likely here.
I just found my problem. While waiting for a response i pulled the laser out of my cabinet to affirm the frame was square and it was but i noticed the gantry was slightly off, jumped a few cogs on the belt. I realigned and its good as gold. Thank you for taking the time to help out, much appreciated
