It’s my first post here and I’m hoping I can get some help here as OMTech support has been useless with all my issues for more than a year. The latest issue I have is that straight lines are wavy, not just at the beginning of the cut but all along. It’s really visible on the X-axis but I suspect it also happens on the Y albeit more discretely.
The photos show cuts on wood but also acrylic. OMTech made me cut squares and measure diagonals, etc to see if it was a calibration issue and simply told me that it was acceptable and not to hesitate to contact them again for any other problem… I mean a straight line like this is not acceptable in my opinion. I’m including two photos but let me know if I should add settings or screenshots, etc. I cut the acrylic at 8mm/s and 50% power (8mA) and the MDF core maple at 8mm/s 65% power (15 mA) if that matters.
It is difficult to tell how much variation occurs along those edges, so put them against a ruler and take careful pictures. That will show the length of the waves parallel to the edge and their height perpendicular to it.
Scale this test pattern to fill the platform and run it as fast as it will go in Line mode with optimizations turned off and power set to mark cardboard:
