Strange behavior on multiple computers

I recently added a new laptop to the shop dedicated to running the laser and one in the house to do my design work. So I’m using 2 of the 3 “seats” that the lightburn license allows.

Something I just noticed is if I’m in the house and save a job to the desktop, it gets saved to the desktop on BOTH computers! While I like this since I don’t have to carry a thumbdrive to the shop, it’s not documented anywhere that I can find.

Is this some kind of lightburn feature that I don’t know about? Or is something else going on?

Doing this will eliminate a whole bunch of future questions:

With that in mind, you may have (inadvertently) set up Windows file sharing between the two machines:

It is, apparently, just a click away …

Stipulated: I don’t generally run Windows, but I do keep a Token Windows Laptop for a few recalcitrant programs, with files on the server downstairs.

As far as I know, Lightburn only saves to the one file location. If you have other links used by the OS that could cause this.

If I put in another computer (which I’ve done), Lightburn doesn’t even know it’s there so it can’t write to another computer…

This would have to be at the os level, not at the application level.

Good luck

Most likely you are using OneDrive or Office365 and you enabled the backup function. Then all your desktops and documents are synchronized automatically (I use this as well). That’s not a LB function, definitely.
