Seems like I haven’t quite got the hang of welding. I would like to weld these together to it is one piece without the lines on the circles but cannot get the weld button to function. I select who open shapes and it highlights the arms but I am not sure how to close them. The appear connected to me when I zoom all the way in.
Probably the middle section is not a closed shape.
You are correct…that middle section not closed, but I cannot figure out how to close it. I even drew lines on the top and bottom to connect it into a box and that still didnt work. Any idea how to close that middle section?
I’m at work right now but will play with it when I get home. Hmmm. I think I’m partway there. What did you do between 3,4,5 (middle) shapes to shrink the top and rejoin?
I drew a square with the bottom line as a starting point, make it editable, break the 2 top points, mark the line and give the desired measurement. Finally I put it all back together with “alt+J”
I’ll give that a shot and report back later today. Thank you
THAT is above and beyond. Thank you!!
That worked great! Awesome tutorial. I was able to get it to join. Question though, when I shortened the top part it took away from only one side and I had to recenter the bar. In your video it pulled equally from both sides and automatically kept it centered. How did you do that?
If it’s a straight square (2x2 same segment length) and you put the “dot in the middle”, everything should be like that in the video.
Sorry, I can’t think of the right name for it, right now
Thanks again! This is a very powerful piece of software with so many things to know and learn about.
