Been doing tracing in LB a lot recently and noticed that LB exports non-closed curves out to SVG. I dont have issue fixing it, as i do it in corel, its just annoying fishing for open entities with end points of the curve present but not connected (shows as open in CDR).
I love LBs trace, use it a lot for importing stuff from bitmaps into corel over corel’s own trace (unnecessarily too complicated and time consuming for lasering). If not for open curve issue…
Running LB 1.0.04 (yeah, need to update), might have been fixed in later versions ?
This is what it looks like in corel. I have joined black piece end points, otherwise i cant fill it. All white outlined objects have their start/end points disjointed. There is a tool in corel to do it automatically, but presents problems with outlining/contouring if open.
Have you confirmed whether the shapes are open or closed in LightBurn prior to Export?
I tested this and didn’t seem to have any issue within LightBurn. Exported as SVG. Loaded into Inkscape without issue. Filled with no problem after combining shapes into compound path. Also tried reimporting into LightBurn and did not find any open shapes.
I am on version 1.0.06. Not sure if the behavior is different from 1.0.04 in this regard but didn’t think they changed anything with Trace or SVG handling from 1.0.04 to 1.0.06.
Is it possible this is an issue on the Corel side?
