Test rotation for rotary on Galvo laser?

Is anyone aware of the ability, or lack there of, of a test rotation of your rotary device, showing the extents of your project? I know with the nature of galvo it’s not likely but just thought I’d ask. I’m not talking about the “test” button on the rotary setup. I just want to be able to see how much my rotary will rotate based on what is on screen. It is possible for my CO2 was hoping the same here.

Thanks
Craig

The only test button is on the gui and isn’t related to your artwork…

I wrap my object with black masking tape and run the job at low power… this lets me see the results.

The rotary doesn’t move when I frame it, unlike on the gantry.

Framing mode for Rotary on Galvo machines was added in the 1.5.xx release. See the notes on that release here:

Right, I appreciate the thought, but I’m looking to actually rotate the chuck to see the extents like you can on CO2. Oh and this did lead me to discover something else that I really needed so thank you!

I’d imagine it’s a limitation of what the controller card supports, as I’m sure Oz would do it if it were capable. Glad you were able to to find something else useful though.

I’m on the 1.6 beta version, and the rotary doesn’t rotate during framing…

I’ve never been able to run the EZCad software, natively, so I don’t know if it rotates the object or not.
