Text losses its orientation

I know this is not a new problem but is it possible to look at it as a matter of urgency, please ,please please.
I have two machines and Emblaser 2 and a Ruida controlled machine and when I use a program created in one controller setting and open it in the other controller setting in flips the drawing 180 deg. I understand that this is because of the home position and this is not an issue as such. The issue is that any text in that file is corrupted to lose its orientation in relation to the rest of the file. I can work around it but then i go to nest the parts and the text goes back to its original relationship or something. The only way is to turn the text into a path but then inevitably I come back weeks later and have no idea what the font was. Its really driving me nuts and wasting my time and money…image|300x500

Change the machine config so that the origin matches the Ruida, then make sure you manually select ‘job origin’ to match the machine before you send the job.

Bonjour I don’t believe that is an option. The issue is on the pc before I even get that far. Thanks.

I don’t understand.

You have a file, if you open it on a machine with a different default controller, the text is screwed up and everything is flipped. If you change your default configuration for that machine so the origin matches that of the Ruida, or you change the machine configuration in LightBurn and remember to set the origin manually before you send the file, the orientation doesn’t change.

The easiest is to change the origin on either of the machines to match the other, along with the appropriate change in LB.

When you’re about to load the file for the Ruida, go to Edit > Device Settings, and move the origin point to the front left. Load the file, then move the origin point back again.

The issue is that text always tries to load “upright”. We’ve recently added information to the saved files to say where the origin was when it was saved, so we should be able to fix this soon.

The one thing I didn’t try… good tip.

The thing is, theres no reason on earth to have your origin left/front - it’s just convention left over from 3D printing. It makes loading/unloading material a pita.

I used to configure left/rear. on DIY machines, after a diet of US/Euro machines, but with the rise of Chinese machines, just went with the most common configuration of right/rear.

Configure your machine to have the origin at right/rear when you set up your GRBL device and it’s all good.
