Text size not correct

Hello ya’ll - I’ve got a problem. Hello ya’ll. I’ve got LB running on Linux Mint, version 1.7.00 with an OLM3 10 watt laser. If the text height is set to 0.500" in the menu bar space using Courier 10 Pitch font (that’s what shows in the “Font” dialog box). I set “Height” to 0.500" and type text to screen. The text will measure 0.30" on screen per grid squares which are set at 0.1". In the “Height” dialog box where the selected object Width 'n Height are shown the text shows 0.3019" high, and 1.1550" wide. When I engrave to a text block with the OLM3 laser the result is text measuring 0.145" and 1.1" wide.

OK, I don’t think it’s a text problem - I just engraved a .5" circle, and it shows round on screen with X & Y showing 0.5". BUT - when engraved the circle is an oval 0.24" high by 0.5" wide.

Thanks for any suggestions or guidance>

Perhaps the Rotary Enable switch is (inadvertently) turned on:

If it’s not that, then other things come into play …

Sure did take me a while to find the “reply” space. Now circles print round and text is ok.

Thanks for the help

Tah-dah!

That switch seems remarkably easy to click in passing and, because you (probably) don’t have a rotary, you’ll never notice it’s enabled.

Welcome to the club!

Oh I’ve got the Ortur Chuck Rotary and had been using it just a couple days before. When I removed the rotary I made sure I moved the switch in the back toward to right so the X axis would work, did the $22= cmd to start homing again. AND I was POSITIVE I clicked the “enable rotary” button… BUT - perhaps I missed that, or as you said when moving the cursor around I might have moved it.

Again, thank you for all your help,
