Text to path without printing the path

After applying text to a path, how do I delete the path without the text returning to its original, straight text. I’ve watched the video but it’s not clear to me.

I applied the text to the path, then I converted the oval to a path and the handles appear and I can use them to distort the text, but when I’m done, and I preview the output, it’s including the path.

In the video it shows deletion of a path segment, but it doesn’t show how that’s done. The pointer is over the segment and he says ‘delete the segment’, but it’s not clear how.

At the end it’s made clear that if you delete the path, the text will revert back, and it does.

So how do I not delete the path, but not have it printed?

Thank you.

You can put your path on a different layer to the text and set the ‘Output’ to off. Or you can put your path on one of the tool layers.

Hope this helps.

This is the easiest method honestly as it also leaves your path in tact if you need to make changes at any point. You have 2 tool layers you can work with that by default do not output or honestly any layer you wish and just choose to turn off Output as mentioned above.

Thanks. for the prompt reply. Sounds easy enough.
