Just starting with lightburn, I have a few projects under my belt. (20w fiber)
I started a long project today, and when it was about 3hrs in, I looked at the %complete and did some math to figure out what time it would be 100% complete. I’m nearing 100% now, about 4 hours earlier than expected. Its a 3d engraved coin so the later layers may take less time but by this much? How is the % complete calculated?
The values used in “Additional Settings” under Edit->Device Settings is used to determine calculated job duration. Tweaking those values will adjust the final durations.
On most laser types (especially grbl but might also be true for fibers) there is no feedback from the laser on the number of commands executed. So the percentage is just linear to the data stream, but not the the time each command takes.
