I am a new user and have noticed on several occasions, when my project has finished and the laser has returned to the top, the countdown timer is still running and I have to press stop.
What am I doing wrong?
Calling it a countdown timer. It is a % completion status bar. If your laser finishes a job and the bar does not go away, that means your controller is not telling Lightburn it has completed the operation.
You may be able to discover something with this simple diagnosis: In the Console window, turn on Show All. Then run your program. Without doing anything else, open the Console window and copy the last 10 lines of text. Paste those lines in a reply.
I am new to this and thought the numbers next to the progress bar were displaying time.
This happens intermittently.

All I see is the enclosure switch giving you grief. That will cause the symptoms you are experiencing with the Completion Estimate Bar.
