Are there any plans to reach out to the bit suppliers asking them to provide support for the MillMage Tool Library?
Now that the MillMage launch is official this would be a welcome development.

That is a good idea, but there are about 100+ Chinese tool suppliers. And they all supply basically the same tools. I expect there are maybe a dozen or so US suppliers, but having a GRBL based desktop machine means I cannot justify the cost of their tools.
Are you receptive to a MillMage Tool Library already built? I spent about 3 hours yesterday cataloging my Amazon sourced tools. You can easily start with this and modify it to fit the tools you do have on hand.
I am attaching my Tool Library, and another âgenericâ (massive) one I got from who knows where. Remove the .txt extension from the files to use them.
3040 CNC Tools.tools.txt (35.3 KB)
generic.tools.txt (79.8 KB)
Thank you for the reply Mike.
I was thinking about the domestic suppliers like IDC Woodcraft, CIC Woodshop, Bits & Bits, and Whiteside. All of these currently have libraries on their sites for different software packages. I am thinking MillMage is going to knock it out of the park therefore having a MillMage tool library would be advantageous for bit company.
I will definitely check out your tool list
Thank you sir.
We would love the support of tool manufacturers and are in the plans. We understand the request, and in fact, there are posts discussing this, and some effort has been put into a conversion tool, taking an existing library and converting it to the MillMage Tool Lib format. Might be worth your review.
It may take some time, but we will get there. ![]()

At the moment, we wouldnât have the customer base to warrant it from their side. As we grow that may change, and in the meantime, weâll have converters. ![]()
