Tracing a downloaded image

Hi,

Why do the tracings I have done to this point all come in with a double-lined border, n inner and outer border? Seems to me that you only need one outline.

Thank you,

Jim

They all will do that because of the type files they are. You need files like svg , dxf, ect which are single lines. Or do a manual trace or original drawing. I use Lightburn or Inkscape but there are many programs available.

Glenn,

Thank you. I will look for SVG files in the future or delete one of the layers.

Jim

What you are looking for is called a CenterLine trace, that will only trace the center of the lines in your design. At this point, LightBurn does not have CenterLine trace capabilities.

I have never been happy with the automatic center line traces in several programs. I get a lot better trace by hand tracing and then editing nodes. Its a really slow process at first but with some practice your speed really improves.

Glenn,

Thank you. I will just have to practice more and get better at modifying the Lightburn trace.
