I wear glasses that go dark when exposed to UV light. By having Diode lasers, I was curious if these lenses, called Transition lenses, offered any sort of protection to laser light. In the image, the left oval was on the front, and the right one was on the back of the lens. The front exposure went black, but I expect not before it could fry your eyes.
Observation: Do not expect something else to take the place of proper eye safety equipment.
