Trouble engraving silver round

Good afternoon,

I have a project and ready to begin production; my proofs on aluminum came out wonderful.

Im using a 100 Watt Galvo OMTech with the following settings:

Layer00: Fill - Lettering - Speed 100, Power 95, Frequency 15, Line Spacing .01, Undirectional, 15 passes

Layer01: Fill - Symbols - Speed 100, Power 100, Frequency 15, Line Spacing .01, Undirectional, 15 passes

Here is my results :cold_sweat:

Supposed to be:

Has your focus changed from the aluminum to the other material? Is the blank the same thickness?

We only had to adjust the focus barely when switching between the two. The center is engraving deep (Which is what we want) if we do 25 passes, it just takes 1.5 hours, so we will probably back that off some since we are achieving 2mm depth.

Should I set the lettering to a power of 100% and try more passes?

**Note - When we are running it really hard like the settings above, sometimes it will pause so I have to hit pause in lightburn and hit resume. This is probably a machine issue but its brand new.

Maybe we should use black laser ink to reduce reflectivity?

Colin - I think I answered my own question. We put black permeant marker on a round and it works like a charm on the lettering! Just use acetone to remove the marker
