I am new but have had great success designing and cutting some things on my AeonCO2 laser (MacBook Pro Ventura). In my designing process I’ve never gotten the Auto-Join feature to do anything, but usually figured out a way to move forward. Now, in my current example, I tried removing some of the fronds of the feather, which left some holes in the top line that were very small. I tried auto-join, I tried drawing a line between the two lines, I tried dragging the nodes together but I can’t get it to come back together. I broke it apart, etc, at various points during the process. It still shows up as unclosed shapes. What am I doing wrong?
Try the close selected paths with tolerance tool.
Okay thanks I tried that again and it did close the shape ultimately when I used the ‘close with line’ tool. it ignored all the other little lines that I had been trying to join but I deleted those and got new line to curve. So it came together ultimately, though not how I’d expected.
Joining nodes is the hardest part in node editing, maybe that’s why there are so many options to try and join them.
