Troubleshooting Ruida Networking

You will need to change the IP address on your Ruida as well.

Don’t run a Mac anymore, but I do Linux and you should be able to use ‘dmesg’ (device mesages) from the command line to see what’s being plugged into the machine. There is also ‘lsusb’ that should be available. Might try it first.

The simple way is to unplug the usb, plug it back in and run dmesg, the last entry should be the usb device you just plugged in. You just want the last device logged.

I don’t think sudo has changed, but I run it as ‘sudo dmesg | tail’ Piping ‘|’ it through ‘tail’ gives only the last few lines or tail of the file. This will usually give the manufacturers id and device id.

Hope this helps. Best of luck… (8’)
