I hope that someone can help me with my problem. I am engraving vertical text on a glass champagne flute. The problem is that I seem to be missing the top couple of lines during the initial burn process. Please take a look at the top of the “C” in theattached jpg. Thanks.
They likely aren’t missing, but all engraved over top of each other while the slack was being taken up in the belts or gearing to the rotary. It’s not an uncommon problem. Check to make sure all the motion parts of the roller are tight (but not too tight, as that can also prevent it from moving right away).
Thanks, Oz! The belt between the motor gear and the wheel gears seems sufficiently tight, so I will add more weight in the glass prior to engraving.
