Tumbler Engraving Sketchy

Hello,

I have an engraving job and I have an Ortur LU2 10a and an Ortur LU2 4LF.

I did image 1 with the 10a and image 2 with the 4LF. Same LB file and settings. Any suggestions about modifying the 4LF setting to get a better engrave? I want to use both lasers at once.

Regards,
Jack

Are both of your lasers using the latest firmware?

Don’t know what firmware I have. How do I get the latest version?

Looks to me like a mechanical issue with the top image. Are you using a roller or a chuck for the top photo?

How much overscan are you using? double it, try again and compare.

Are you on X axis or Y axis for scan angle? swap it and try again.

Looks like my firmware is old. But can’t seem to get the 5 second hold then 1 second hold to produce a drive on the computer.

I am using a roller and doubled my overscan. No real improvement. The 4LF has done well on other tumblers. Maybe it is the coating. I like the x axis because it doesn’t move the tumbler around so much.

Ok, makes sense. I used my roller for almost 10 mins before I replaced the roller with a chuck. What works for me does not work for you. Fair enough.

My next purchase will be a chuck so that I can do stuff with handles.

I get the drive up but then run into this error when pasting the bin file.

Hello…Why do you think I can’t copy/paste the BIN file?

Were you able to see the error I am getting when trying to copy/paste the BIN file? Below in this chat…

I don’t know what a Bin file is, or does. Sorry.

The error you received usually happens when the motherboard rejects the firmware file. You might be trying to upload the wrong firmware for your machine.

Please enter $I into your console window with your laser connected to learn what machine you’re using. Please report back on what it says.
