Unable to connect to Laser (Siaho/Vevor), Fiber/Galvo, Win11

Hi
I have a 50W fiber galvo laser, Siaho is the actual brand delivered, but claimed it was a Vevor in the add. No matter. I did get it to work using EZcad2, it came with a demo version. It works fine but EZcad2 cannot do the 3D relief engraving that I want to do - that Lightburn can (another interesting topic, actually). The laser also claimed it was Lightburn compatible…

Lightburn cannot find the laser on it’s own, so I did a manual install. I select JCZFiber as the controller, and the laser came with a configuration file with the same name as the Devices install queries (markcfg7), so this seems right. But no connection. I tried to install with other controller types, not that. I fully unistalled the driver that EZcad installed, then re-installed with Lightburn, restart program, restart computer, nothing. EZcad still works.

BTW, what’s with the “right click” on the Device button I see everywhere, it doesn’t seem to do anything, “left click” has action. I’m using the demo version 20.0.05, computer is HP Win11.

The connection obviously is functional (EZcad), why can’t I get Lightburn to access it?

I’ll add that the device manager indicates that the laser is plugged into Port#11. The Lightburn port options in the Laser window are “Auto” or “Port#4.” Port#11 is not an option. If I go to the devices settings under Laser Tools, a display shows ports 0-15 inside red boxes. All are red. Am I supposed to be able to select a port here? Would a successful connect be represented with a green box?

It’s likely a driver issue. EZCad2 and Lightburn drivers are not compatible with each other.

If it runs EZCad2, it should run with Lightburn.

This Youtube video may help.

Good luck.

BOOM! Thank you very much! Zadig was the missing ingredient. I uninstalled the other driver several times (which came under is own/different heading, not USB devices), and with no application open, or even with only Lightburn open, scan for new devices would install that other driver. Zadig forced the appropriate driver to install.

Have a Happy New Year - I will now!

Great, I’m glad you’re up and running.

I’ll mark that thread as a solution.
