Unable to install lightburn on ubuntu

Hi all. After struggling with Windows 11 causing so many daily problems on my small laptop ( small hard drive capacity ) I decided to switch to Linux Ubuntu as I read that it will work on this OS.

I managed to strip Windows from my laptop and install Ubuntu which is working 20 times faster than Windows !

I have downloaded Lightburn for Linux 3 times now - which takes a very long time to download - and after expecting to see an con to double click to install as in Windows or Mac all I get is a large file that opens sowing hundreds of lines of what looks to me like computer code ?

Please help this 82 year old newbie if you can as I need to do quite a lot of work on my Atomstack Laser !

Best Regards to you all . . . . Eddie.

I have always installed it with the .run installer file

You should make sure to follow the steps described here: Installation & Setup - LightBurn Documentation

The only thing I would add is in the step before running the installer
execute the following command chmod +x ./LightBurn-Linux64-v*.run to give the installer execution permission

Complying with all these steps, including restarting the system before installing it, will work. If you have any questions, ask again.

sorry for my english, i’m using a translator
