Hello, I’m new to Laser cutting and engraving and I have a design I want to make. When I go to preview it I get a message that there are some unclosed items. I have it show me and I see where the problem is but I don’t know how to fix it. I just want the lines to engrave. I have attached screen shots of the issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I might suggest having the lines on a different layer set to ‘Line’, and lower the power for that layer to just ‘mark’ the surface, vs higher power used to cut. 
You are getting this message because those lines are set to ‘Fill’. Filling a shape requires the shape to be a closed shape. Think of it this way, fills are like pouring a liquid into a container. How would one pour a liquid into a line? Fill requires closed shapes to work.

Set each layer to line mode and you shouldn’t get the message.
To be clear you just want the outlines, and nothing filled in?
For future reference, if you do want to fix the objects set to fill but are not closed, you will need to learn more about node editing.
Deselect everything, then you can also go to Edit → Select open shapes.
